Farmers' Markets
Farmers’ Markets take place around Scotland every weekend. There are stalls offering a huge variety of seasonal local produce: succulent lamb and beef, wild boar, buffalo, fresh vegetables, jams, honey, cheese, oatcakes and more…
You can wander round and take in the atmosphere: chat to the stallholders who love talking about their produce. You can learn about where the food comes from and get tips on how to cook it. Some producers are happy for you to taste the produce on offer.
Perth Farmers’ Market was the first ever market in Scotland which began in 1999. There are between 35 and 40 stallholders each month in King Edward Street as well as a cooking demonstration where you can watch the produce being cooked up into mouth watering dishes.
Often there is entertainment and other events going on around the market so there’s plenty to see and do.
